Courses attended

Cromer Whitsun Course, Sunday 26th - Friday 31st May

Yvette, Mike and Gav attended this course. Mike and Gav spent the Sunday and Monday under the watchful eye of Neil Roode 6th Dan and Nick Holmes 4th Dan on the 'General Judo' mat whilst Yvette attended the Kata Masterclass with G. R. Mealing 7th Dan. With the Tuesday off to spend time with family, Wednesday saw everybody back on the mat with Paul Laskey 6th Dan taking the General Judo mat for the seniors. Yvette spent time on the Kata mat practising Nage, Katama, Kime and Ju-no kata. All attendees thoroughly enjoyed their time on the course.

St. Ives Easter Course

Gav, Russ, Tom and Zante attended this course. The mat was crowded as usual but they all enjoyed their time there. Tom found the on-site Physio extremely useful to have present! Grading day saw Russ fight for his Dan grade and Gav fight for his 2nd kyu but due to a muck up his grading didn't continue.

Fundamental Principles of Judo Level 2, Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th August

Mike & Yvette attended the above course at White Horse Judo Club. Mike passed his FPJ 2 and Yvette re-qualified her FPJ 2.

Bognor Summer School, Monday 20th - Friday 24th August

Emily, Tom, Mike & Yvette attended the above course. Tom passed his FPJ 1 and trained on Wednesday with Jane Bridge-Charlot, learning lots of new techniques and most importantly having lots of fun. Emily and Mike trained on the Monday & Tuesday learning BJC general Judo and then spent Wednesday and Thursday under the expert tuition of Jane Bridge-Charlot. Both learnt a lot from Jane and found it hard work and tiring.

Emily, Tom and Mike entered the National Grading on the Friday: Tom was promoted to 2nd Kyu and Mike drew his 1st fight but got injured in his 2nd fight forcing him to withdraw from the grading.

Hopefully more of White Horse Judo Club will attend the Summer School next year as you missed a great opportunity to learn new things, meet new people and make new friends.
